This is an extensive set of introductory lecture notes and information on the history and science of cosmology, from ancient times through to Albert Einstein (1879-1955). Topics covered include: scientific method; Greek and related cosmology; the middle ages and the Copernican revolution; Galileo Galilie (1564-1642) and Isaac Newton (1643-1727); relativity; the origins of the universe; and recent developments and problems in cosmology. The notes contain hyperlinks to other relevant sections, and are accompanied by a variety of diagrams, images, biographies and definitions. The whole set of notes can be accessed via the web or downloaded as a PDF file. The site is well-organized, easy to use, and a good source of information for the undergraduate beginning to study cosmology as a topic of scientific and historical interest.
